Friends (?)

My daddy is tipsy tonight. And my mom is not angry, for once! She's just rather amused. Wow. Humour. Freud's level 4 defense mechanism! My mommy is pro.

Since im feeling completely braindead and incoherent, might as well blog right? LOL. Today i shall try to categorize the general term "Friend".

Level 1-Un-friend
This is the person you might have been rather close to before, but a conflict occurred and you arent friends anymore. There is nearly always a civilly awkward air between you two. I'd put ex-es, people whom you rejected/ got rejected by, and fallen-out besties in this category.

Level 2- Acquaintance
This is the person you say 'Hi' to for courtesy's sake. Prolly seen each other around, and know each others' names, but besides that and the occasional 'How've you been doing?', barely any more exchange.

Level 3- Fair-weathered friend
This is the kind of person i don't like. They act very chummy with you, but only when they want something. Sad fact, but there are many like that. Perhaps the only thing good about this category of people is that they allow you to use them as well sometimes. Like when you don't want to seem like a loser eating alone in the canteen[ note-i eat alone quite often, but i LIKE it. Haha im a loser:) ] It's like, scratch my back and I'll do yours. Hahaha i always found that phrase amusing. ;D

Level 4- Proximity Friend
This is the friend that you hang out with alot, but only at work/school. You are drawn together by proximity, and spend a huge amount of time together. The person is usually nice, and you get along pretty well, and you probably confide in him/her when in trouble, but you know you wont expect the person to go that extra mile for you; your relationship ends there. Has the potential to move up to higher levels though. Most classmates/ CCA-mates/ colleagues are under this category.

Level 5- Wishful Friend
This friend is the one you ought to treasure but don't. It's really sad, but there is a disparity in the amount of effort put into the friendship between the both of you. This friend is very nice to you, and prolly holds you dear, but somehow you dont reciprocate the feeling of friendship. Instead, you might be apathetic, or even repulsed and feel that this individual is "trying too hard". I dont know how to explain this. Lack of chemistry?

Level 6- Friend Wishful
Haha. What goes around comes around. Now YOU are the wishful friend!

Level 7- Friend
The typical Friend-in-Need. You know you can rely on this one. You dont have to be physically together 24-7, but you are always there for each other. The foundation is well-laid.

Level 8- Good Friend
Mixture of Friend and Proximity Friend. This one is almost always near you, and your friendship transcends the superficial level.

Level 9- Best Friend
This one is the one with the long standing history. You went through glued-at-the-hip stage, or still are in it. But either way, this is the friend you can tell everything and anything to, anytime, anywhere. You are so close you are beginning to even look like each other. At a point, people might have wondered if the both of you were gay, or together( if the other party is of the other sex). This friend is most precious to you, vice versa.

Level 10- Girl/Boyfriend
Well. Doh! ;)

Hahaha if anybody read that, im sorry! Bad post. :S But im feeling random and retarded. So there. :P

RTIWLTS: I've become pretty good at filtering/compartmentalizing already. Either that or no-one cares enough to notice. :)

Sinful...

Haha i've been eating so much lately. Blame it on the food porn. Makes me hungry even after a FULL meal. -oink. :S

Had Carl's Junior today with bestie Row:) Passed that pretty girl the cute topshop PJs i got for her birthday. :D And after that i got a saybon treat frm LDD. Sher is one happy fat ball. :)

Well since im onto the topic of sinful food. Just gotta admit McDonald's has the best advertising around.

THIS LITTLE PUNK IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! :)

He's dancing to Cha Cha Slide, an updated verson of the electric slide. Its like the Aces Day song for schools in the States. So much better than those techno shyte we get nowadays. :/ But ah wells. No more Aces Days for me! Ever! :P

Quincy was on Oprah, alongside other amazing kids like a toddler who can memorize the world map and this fifteen-year-old who sings WHITNEY HOUSTON's songs. O.O

Joie de vivre

LAG... Haha that's what my posts seem to doing huh. :S Well lately i dint have much to write about. Went out with quite a few friends, played a little tennis(uneven tan! :@), ran with my daddy... Lol.

Ohh i've been watching quite alot of discovery and nat geo lately! :D Watched stuff like taboo and most evil. Cool shit! Haha.

I have developed a fascination about cults and their charismatic leaders lately. Like Charles Manson and Jim Jones. They are horribly evil, yet you cant help but marvel at their immense power over others. Imagine being able to see everyone's weakness and use it to control them, or to have so much influence on your 900 followers that they'll willingly ingest cyanide just with one order of yours, or just having followers at that! But power corrupts, and cult leaders usually go kinda kuku towards the end. :S

Charisma is often used to describe an elusive, even undefinable personality trait that often includes the seemingly 'supernatural' or uncanny ability to lead, charm, persuade, inspire, and/or influence people.

Wow. Charisma is a talent huh. Haha people usually use that word to categorize attractive people who have no outstanding feature. Like, haven't you heard someone go, "He's not that hot, but i like him... *pauses as she tries to think of a logical explanation of why she does...* OH. He's charismatic!" Hahaha i've been guilty of using the word too broadly as well (not in the context of my rather bimbotic example laa) so i guess we all learn something new everyday! :D

Borrowed metaphor- Filter Funnel

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIMIN! <3

Funny stuff really keeps blackass thoughts away huh. :)

Hahaha omg this is one fantastic ventriloquist! Plus, he's hilarious as a standup comedian! LOL today my classmates told me i had a talent as an SC, but after checking out the competition, i think i'd better stay outta e game ;D

Hurricane- Exciting at first but ends in disaster. HAHAHA.

I knw the thing says 'no longer available' but just press Play. It works!

"Stop looking at my stee-ek." :D

Lantern Festival

Haha today's post is gonna be all about the girl whom i share a room with for fifteen years of my life.

NERDY KWOK AKA KWOK SHER WEI :D

Today we were locked out of the house with $135 worth of groceries! T_T

But with each other's company we passed the time quickly. :)

Then at night we went back to the nostalgic habits of our childhood!

We carried lanterns around! X)

Haha we even managed to drag Ria along! :D

Hahaha although it was *a little* embarrassing, we had lotsa fun! :)

Ahaha my sis says i look like a ghost in this one. Whoo~

LOL okay now everyone can see the horribly childish habits of the Sher Sisters. :$ But hey at least we're in touch with our culture right? >.<

Love Your Body

Whoo today i slept till noon! :D My daddy was like, "Wah. New record ar, follow your sister already." LOL she never fails to sleep in when she can, regardless of whether she slept at 9 or 3 the night before. :X Im turning into my little sister!!!!! :X :X :X Hahaha, my little sister who acts like she's older than me. Anyone who's went out with me and my sis would notice that she's always the one helping me along when i muck up. Haha. Like today.

My new pretty slippers were totally having an episode today. Joy(whom i met up with before my sis came) also asked whats wrong with them today cos they kept tripping me and falling out. But the worst was when i was walking up the stairs at the orchard underpass. I tripped over them and fell with a loud clatter, which reverberated through the passagewat SO LOUDLY i wanted to die. :( And when i fell i made a fervent grab in the air to regain my balance and guess what i grabbed? A MAN'S ANKLE. :$:$:$ So i ended up with a scraped knee, stubbed toe, bruised ego, and an insanely hysterical sister. She couldnt stop laughing la! :/

I was so traumatised all the satisfaction from the awesome salmon-with-creamed-cheese-and-CUCUMBERS( i usually avoid these but this was so good i just ate it:)-on-multi-grained
sandwich i has at Toast with joy disappeared. :=( I ended up relying on serious retail therapy with my sis. Spent like 73bucks at The Body Shop. :X

/edit/
OMG i think im so stupid. Just read two scary Gothic tales just before midnight! :X The Black Cat and The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe. So scaryyy. -shivers. But i think The Tell-Tale Heart is quite nice. :X

RTIWLTS: I dont understand why. Sigh. :(

Turn on Billie..

.. is really nice! Haha try it, it's just click away! *points to imeem playlist.*

Anyway, went out with Girlfriend today. :) I bought Simin's gifts, and she got a tube to complement her pretty dresses(WHICH I TOTALLY CANT PULL OFF. :'(!), and we both bought salmon onigiri, which we chomped into at the exact same time, making the exact same crunch sound. Hahaha we laughed so much it was embarrassing. Miss Punctual was fifteen minutes early, while i was five late! :( MUST BE EARLIER THAN DELLE NEXT TIME. -determined.

On the bus journey there, i sat infront of this little old man. He was singing a Cantonese song under his breath. I dont know whether if it was his voice, or the tune, but the song was really soothing, and i found myself enjoying it, instead of being freaked out or irked like how a normal teenage girl would feel if a strange old dude was singing in her ear. It was some love song, but due to my weak grasp of the dialect i couldnt really understand the whole song, just bits and pieces of it. I wanted to tell the uncle his singing was really good, but when i turned around i couldnt speak. His eyes were closed, and i could tell his song was really heartfelt, by the slight grimace on his face, like each note was tugging on his heartstrings. At that moment i felt extremely extremely sad. I dont know why, not even now. Old people make me sad too. :(

Okay im too emo to blog already. :(:(:(

I know im crazy. Sigh.

Ab imo pectore,

I had quite the awesome day. :) Went to the library, got a lift there(thanks daddy!), got some nice books, and another lift back. Then went to qian hu for fishie spa! LDD got TWO vids of me screeching like some dying piglet. :$ Hahaha it was quite hilarious. I mean i was. Couldnt stop screaming and laughing, it was THAT ticklish. :O Then again the first(and only) time i went for a facial i couldnt stop laughing too, so my threshold for tickling is rather low. :X Dinnered at laopasat. Awesome kebab! Was stuffed to the max! My belt felt SOO tight! :S But Sher is one happy ball. :)

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

O.O They wrote the song in dactylic tetrameter. HOW GAY IS THAT! Granted, they had to extend some syllables, but John Lennon and Paul McCartney so totally poets la can!! GOSH. The Beatles were accused of making references to the drug LSD because that's the acronym of the title of the song, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, but i think that's just the result of fans with an overactive imagination la huhhh. It's such a pretty title! And the abstractness just makes up the dreamy mood of the song. Even though the kaleidoscope eyes thing DOES make one wonder cos LSD has this special effect, which makes one see coloured and geometric patterns. Hmm. Aiya whatever. I still like the song. :D

RTIWLTS: si vales valeo- if you are well, i am well.
natural reactions are innate and happymaking:)

Woah.

I havent exercised for so long, so two and half hours of tennis(mostly picking balls HAHA) totally knocked me out! I came home, ate my yummy jellyfish-like veggies (that caused me to take FOUR buses home) and slept for around two and a half hours. :X Now i feel like a pig. Maybe I'll finish that 07 TJC math prelim paper later. So difficult! -launches into her special for-math-only whiny mode. :{

My hand hurts. Specifically the "knees" of my fingers. Like the middle joints. Maybe i've been holding the racquet wrongly. Is my hand even supposed to hurt? :S

Today my dad asked me for my opinion about something. I think i surprised him with my answer. Cos apparently he dint think i'd notice that he'd feel a certain way about stuff. I was surprised too, cos i thought that was very obvious. Makes me wonder, maybe people can see through us, and know what we are thinking even if we thought we arent being obvious. Read like a book. Reminds me of what my lit teacher mr whitby said, "You think I am merely saying hi? I can SEE into your minds..." Creepy! Hahaha. The bystander has the clearest view. So true!

I wanted to blog about sth, but i forgot what. Darn! I've read about this before. Our short term memory lasts only 30 seconds and have limited capacity. So when its full and we're faced with new information dispacement will occur, like the new info will push the old ones outta our mind. So when you walk into a room and forget instantly what you wanted to do or get in that room, its cos the new environment has pushed your motive for going there out of your mind. Hahaha see? IM NORMAL!!! :P

A laugh is a smile that bursts. :D

RTIWLTS: I'll try if you do. And you too. :)

E.E Cummings, and my (irrational?) fears

"anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn't he danced his did

Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn't they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone's any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men(both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain"

AH OMG IM GONNA GROW UP TO BE LIKE SOMEONES AND EVERYONES!!! Unwilling as i may be, to survive in society one has to conform and be self centred!

AHH HELP!!! -fears for her future.

Scaryscaryscary poem!!!
Okay im done panicking. But this poem is so sad!
And so realistic its scary. –shudders.
The nomenclature really struck a nerve. someones and everyones is so
generic, and totally could apply to EVERYBODY. SO SCARY!

The protagonists anyone and noone are more individualistic,
but their name suggests that such people are so rare they’re like ONE in many,
or NONE of them exists! Eurghhhh im gona die like
someones and everyones, unfulfilled. :’(((

Dinner

With crescentians is always a blast! :D Met up with Cassandra, Khalisah and Teri in town for mirth and macs today. They havent changed one bit, still so full of life. :) Miss the nonsense, laughter and even the suanings. Its like we were in our classroom crapping in between lessons again. :) Ohoh im supposed to quote this funny part of dinner!

Ksah: ... I ate pork lehh!
Everyone: *stares at her in horror*
Ksah: Just kidding, just kidding!
Cass: Hahaha but you drank before yeah?
Ksah: That was, like, 0.01%? Very little!
Sher: HUH when!
Ksah: Indian poker la.

-After a while-

Teri: Uhhh I dont get it... You drank PORK?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! It was HILARIOUS! Ksah and cass laughed the house down mann. She's so cute right! ;D Cant wait for our next gathering. Hopefully then we'll have the whole clique, instead of just half.

My mom was quite cute today as well. She came back all happy, and told me, "Today people say your mummy very pretty leh. *smiles*" LOL.

RTIWLTS: Patience is ALWAYS a virtue. ;)

You are absurd
You say the cutest things I've ever heard
I don't think I can take another word
Oh my head might explode and I will have to go to heaven

It's Friday!!

Whichistersay, the last day for relaxation!!! Its gonna be back to the books(not future, HAHA) after todayyy! :( Goodbye shopping, movies, catching up which old friends, indulgence in yummy chow, and slacksville at home, and hello books, notes(paper), notes(online), TYS-es, my sticker-covered GC and file, and PENS! Hmm. Somehow i dont feel as dreadful as i make myself out to be. I suppose there's a sanctuary even in mugging. You dont have to think about anything else except for the sum you are tackling, or some stupid difficult abstract concept. The focus(if achieved) can be kind of comforting, as an escape, especially if you're stuck in some situation with friends, or family, or whatever. So Students, embrace the art of MUGGING! :D

LOL i talk so highly of studying, but in actual fact its not as easy as it sounds. You might be stressed,

or end up plain retarded,

But hopefully, the end results will be worthwhile.

So, everyone, STUDYYYYY! :p

OMG I"VE GOTTA FLY!!! BYEE.

The Pierces

In my haste to upload the video “Secret” last night [ignore the time reported, its wrong], I neglected to give the talented band who sang it a proper introduction.

The Pierces are two disturbingly hot sisters from Alabama who are really talented. I dont think they were very famous before their latest album, Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge(2007), but this album is awesome! It showcases a wide range of styles and genres, using instruments such as an accordion, a calliope, bassoons, a sitar, violins, an autoharp, and a Hawaiian lap steel. Their image reminds me of the stereotypical gothic girl who is extremely hot despite her inclinations toward unorthodox beliefs and weird habits. They are smart, have actual musical talent, and are eccentrically sexy. I like their victorian vintage style. Very classy. :) Check them out at their myspace page.

On a side note, I wanna change my style! Or widen it at least. :) I got a Bohemian inspired dress/top today and its a nice change from my usual babydoll/empire-cut/tanktops&shorts style. Makes me wonder if i can pull off other kinds of clothes *victorian/vintage like The Pierces!* Heh. :D

BUT. Money(or the lack of which) poses as a problem, so if you wish to donate to the save-sheryan's-sad-fashion-sense-fund you're more than welcome to! ;)

I'd like new frocks please. ^^

RTIWLTS: Overexposure to glamorous(BIG-SHOT) people makes one feel rather small...

WOOHOO! FINALLY FOUND IT! AFTER MORE THAN ONE HOUR!! This is one awesome song, its gothic and dark qualities are brought out by juxtaposition of the light hearted tune. The sisters are so freakishly hot! :) And Im only one hour late! The deadline was yesterday. -winks at lord dindin.

Okay now i wana watch gossip girl. For this song! :D

Got a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear this one you'll save
Better lock it, in your pocket
Taking this one to the grave
If I show you then I know you
Won't tell what I said
Cause two can keep a secret
If one of them is dead…

If, you ever see this, HAPPY EIGHTEENTH VAL! <3

Okay. Blame it on my short attention span, but im kinda sick of blogging alr. :S LOL. But yesterday was a fun day. :) Went out with bestie, ROW! x) Havent shopped like that in ages. And catching up! :) Dint realise how much we missed each other. But i love the way in which we can just come together after a long long time and just chat like there's no tomorrow. :) Usually i dont have enough patience to scour the many little aisles of Bugis Street, but yesterday we did. And with much yield! :D The bargains there are seriously cheap. Makes me wonder about their cost price though. :\ Oh wells. Perhaps next year i can tag along when she goes to Bangkok to collect stock for her online store! Must save up mannn. Speaking of which, my financial status has reached an all-time-low from yesterday. Shucks i must save up even more to cover for the losses. Birthday season's around the corner! -visualizes birthday presents eclipsing the sun. Ta-ta-ta-TAAA. Hahaha.

RTIWLTS: New good remedy-->Song. :D

Monday, September 1, 2008

Wow. Yesterday was.. Eventful. Went out with clique! :) It was very nice to spend time with everyone out of the classroom, or breaktime concept. We celebrated Val's birthday! :D Went early(for once!) after getting the pretty bouquet and met delle. We tied up the loose end of the gifts and bought food. Then jh arrived and we waited for the rest, watching the trailer for housebunny a million times. Im SO gonna watch that show. :P 12 Lotus was incredibly sad!! Duno why people said its similar to 881. The only similarity is the theme of getai, and the cast. It totally reminded me of the picturehouse film, Justine, with all the betrayals and rape scene. :S Its a good thing 12Lotus is not m18 too. :X Delle and i found one particular scene extra sad, where the protagonist reads the goodbye message on her mirror and laughs maniacally due to the trauma of realization, and crams her favourite comfort food into her mouth. I started crying then, and couldnt stop throughout the show. :X Joy and Val were just bawling throughout the whole thing. LOL. Weird choice of movie for a celebration, but i think noone regretted it. Royston Tan is good! I liked the setting, and found all the props really believable and pretty in a darkdark way. The old powerpoints with the peeling paint, and vintage furniture had me strangely fixated. I found myself looking at the backdrop instead of the actors sometimes. Hahah I know im weird. :S

Leung joined us for dinner, at Manhattan Fish Market downstairs. I was so amazed by their flaming prawns! Theo and i shared them, and the sauce was so yummy we asked for more-flamed too! :) The service was really good too. A definite-returner. :) We couldnt get val any cake cos they all had milk in them, so we asked leung to buy a pie(apple or sth) as substitute. It was hilarious, cos he misunderstood our meaning of pie and got Val a Lemon Fish Pie! Lol. But it was all good. :) The pictures we took might be lost though. :( But the memories are here forever. :):):)

RTIWLTST(shld make shorter acronyms! Cant rmb. X):
Without Love, there is no Pain,
Without Pain, there is no Love
-quote from 12 Lotus

so apt.
